Calif. bill aims to protect sacred sites

TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2002

The California Assembly is considering a bill to add protections to sacred sites.

The legislation would require tribal approval of any plans that affect ceremonial areas in public areas. The goal is to preserve the sites but educate others as well.
