Crow Reservation woman pleads not guilty

THURSDAY, JULY 25, 2002

A woman on the Crow Reservation of Montana pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting a child on Wednesday.

Samantha Lynn Hugs, 32, faces five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for allegedly causing injury to a child under 16. She is being charged in federal court.

The court also held proceedings yesterday for a Crow Reservation resident who pleaded not guilty to distributing methamphetamine off the reservation. John William Gardner faces five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. His girlfriend is also charged.
