Bush signs corporate fraud bill

WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 2002

President Bush on Tuesday signed into law stricter corporate accountability measures.

The package sailed quickly through Congress amid financial scandals that have eroded consumer confidence. Bush said the legislation will force companies to tell the truth or face jail time and stiff financial penalties.
