Editorial: Prison study needs more support

MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2002

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader in an editorial today praises a proposed study of Native Americans in South Dakota prisons.

But since the effort will take place this summer, the paper says there isn't enough time being dedicated to the important issue. "Good idea," the paper writes. "It's lacking something in execution and determination, though."

The study was authorized by the State-Tribal Relations Committee of the State Legislature.
