Tribal police officer died saving boy

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2002

John "Kevin" Schultz, an officer for Pojoaque Pueblo in New Mexico, died over the weekend while saving a 12-year-old boy who was drowning.

The boy lived but Schultz did not. The exact cause of death was not known and police are investigating.
