Not guilty plea entered in bribe case
THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 2002 A former Oklahoma state official has pleaded not guilty to federal fraud and bribery charges in connection with work he did involving tribes. Phillip C. Bread, a member of the Kiowa Tribe, used to work for the state Commerce Department. As tribal assistance director, he was a liaison between tribes and companies who wanted to do business with them. A federal indictment alleges Bread accepted $12,000 to set up the meetings. Get the Story:
