Native village fire quickly contained

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2002

A fire in the Inupiat Eskimo village of Shungnak, Alaska, destroyed two lodges before being contained on Monday.

The 10,000-square-foot Commack Lodge and the Baptist Lodge were destroyed. A family of six was affected.
