Idaho tribe seeks discrimination probe
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2002 The Shoshone-Bannock Nation of Idaho is requesting a state and federal probe into the treatment of Native students at a local high school. The request was spurred by a recent pepper spray incident involving an 17-year-old male who was subdued and arrested October 16 at the school. The tribe is representing the 290-pound student. The school was placed on "lockdown," following the arrest and the receipt of an alleged death threat. Get the Story:
