Review: Lakota Sioux Dance Theatre

Pamela Squires reviews an November 1 performance of the Lakota Sioux Dance Theatre for The Washington Post, calling it a "refreshing" presentation of Lakota culture.

"The group's mixture of myths, symbols and dances from 2,000 years to 50 years ago offered a satisfying and true mini-portrait of Plains Indian culture," Squires writes.

The troupe is based on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. Their performance includes 19 pow-wow and other dances.
