Canada won't appeal court ruling
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2002 Canada's Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development won't appeal a ruling that rescinded federal management of an Ojibwe First Nation. Indian affairs minister Robert Nault told the Canadian Press the December 2 ruling wasn't all that significant. A federal judge said the government unfairly imposed a management structure on the Pikangikum First Nation, which has gone through some social and financial problems. Get the Story:
