Calif. tribes still waiting for water
THURSDAY, AUGUST 22, 2002 The Department of Interior in December 2000 promised two California tribes it would restore flows in a river in order to fulfill its treaty and trust responsibilities. The Yurok Tribe and the Hoopa Valley Tribe are still waiting for the government to live up to its promise. A lawsuit has delayed implementation.
