Editorial: Praise for tribal partnership

MONDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2002

The Great Falls Tribune in an editorial today praises the Blackfeet Nation of Montana and a local town for working together to bring medical services to the region.

"It's far from a done deal," the paper writes. "A feasibility study is in the works. Based on its results, officials then would have to hammer out financing. But the plan has merit."

The tribe is looking to finance a medical center that will serve tribal members in Montana and Canada, local Indians and others. The estimated cost is $50 million to $100 million.
