Tribes to pay $15 million a year for casino

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2003

Two tribes have agreed to pay $15 million a year to a New York county to offset the impact of their respective casinos.

The Middletown Times Herald-Record reports that the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe and the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans will pay Sullivan County the annual fee. The county stands to make $45 million a year if a third tribe locates a casino there.
