Bush budget reduces education impact aid funds

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2003

President Bush's fiscal year 2004 budget request cuts $172 million in education impact aid.

Impact aid is distributed to school districts with tax-exempt federal or Indian land. Schools are reimbursed based on the number of Indian students who live on Indian property or on the amount of military property.
