Kickapoo Tribe reaches out to local county

The Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas met with county officials on Monday to start a dialogue on issues of concern.

The meeting was seen as helping improve communications between the tribe and Brown County. A county official alarmed the tribe last month by writing a letter to a state senator saying that the tribe's casino has become an infrastructure burden.

The two governments plan to meet every so often.
