Ex-IHS employee sentenced for kickback scheme
THURSDAY, APRIL 10, 2003 A former Indian Health Service employee on the Crow Reservation in Montana was sentenced to a year and one day in federal prison for accepting kickbacks. Arthur C. Alden, 60, and other ex-employees participated in a scheme by which the IHS purchased light bulbs and other lighting equipment from an out-of-state company. Alden took $12,764 in kickbacks from the firm and was ordered to pay $23,540 in restitution to the IHS. Get the Story:
