Fewer than 5 percent of DOI employees are 'essential'
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16, 2003 Less than 5 percent of employees in the Department of Interior's main building in Washington, D.C., are considered essential, Al Kamen of The Washington Post reports. These chosen few -- the political appointees in particular -- will be evacuated to a safe location in the event of a terrorist attack in order to keep the agency operating. The rest?
