Bill seeks to renegotiate gaming compacts

TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 2003

A bill has been introduced in the Minnesota Legislature to reopen compact negotiations with the state's tribes.

The state has a $4.23 billion deficit. Like others in the same situation, some lawmakers are looking to tribes for more revenue.

Currently, 11 tribes in Minnesota offer Class III gaming.
