Martin expected to win Miss. Choctaw election

TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 2003

The Mississippi Choctaw Tribe is holding an election today. Tribal members predict longtime chief Phillip Martin, facing three challengers, will win, the Associated Press reported.

Martin has led the tribe since 1979. He has presided over large economic development projects, including two casinos.
