Bison herd runs loose on Umatilla Reservation

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2003

The Confederated Umatilla Tribes of Oregon are consulting with other tribes on the best way to round up a herd of bison running loose on the reservation.

A wayward rancher released the herd, which has wandered onto private, federal and tribal land. More than 30 buffalo are on the reservation.
