First Nations move forward $3B pipeline deal
THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 2003 A coalition of First Nations in the Northwest Territories of Canada signed a deal to clear the way for a $3 billion natural gas pipeline. TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. will lend the coalition about $80 million for preliminary engineering and environmental studies. The pipeline, expected to cost $3 billion, would cross reserve land.
