Mont. court invalidates GOP districting law
THURSDAY, JULY 3, 2003 A Montana district judge on Wednesday invalidated a law that stripped a state commission of its power to draw the state's legislative districts. The Democrat-heavy commission drew a map with seven majority-Indian districts. Republicans argued that it was a power grab and passed a law that purported to reverse it.
