Red Lake Ojibwe establishes tribal chiefs day
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2003 The council of the Red Lake Nation of Minnesota approved the creation of a Chiefs Day in honor of its tribal leaders. The day replaces Presidents Day and will be celebrated on Monday. Tribal members who spearheaded the initiative said it will educate others about tribal history. Get the Story:
