Powhatan village may be home of Pocahontas
WEDNESDAY, MAY 7, 2003 Archaeologists in Virginia have uncovered a 17th century site believed to be the home of Chief Powhatan and his daughter Pocahontas. The site is located on the banks of the York River. It matches a description of Werowocomoco, Powhatan's principal village. Archaeologists said they found a significant number of artifacts.
