Obituary: Ferguson, Alaska Native leader
THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 2003 Frank Ferguson, an Inupiat Eskimo who served in the Alaska Legislature and was a former president of the Alaska Federation of Natives, died from what was reported to be a stroke. He was 63. Ferguson was a state senator from 1971 to 1986. He was credited with helping improve education, courts, public health and other programs for rural areas of the state.
