Intact dinosaur fetuses found

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2001

Research published in today's issue of Science reports the discovery of fossilized eggs containing nearly intact embryos of baby titanosaurs.

The eggs were found in Patagonia area of Argentina in 1997. A flood apparently cast the eggs in mud, thus preserving them for millions and millions of years.

The dinosaurs are from the titanosaur family, which includes some of the largest known plant-eating animals.
