Waste removed from reservation

The Environmental Protection Agency this week is completing work on cleaning up the remains of hazardous waste dumped on the Eastern Pequot Reservation in Connecticut.

Some 26 barrels of roofing tar had been sitting on the reservation for nearly 40 years, but no one know exactly why they were dumped there. Some say they were bound for a former local landfill but never made it.
