Hog farm protest camp set up

MAY 17, 2001

American Indian and other activists are setting up "Camp Sovereignty" on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota in order to protest development of a hog farm.

The tribe and others don't want the farm project to continue. It was approved by a previous administration and a federal judge has so far refused to block the project.

The tribe plans on appealing the ruling of U.S. District Judge Charles Kornmann.
