Tribes developing drought plan

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2002

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation in Montana are working with a power company to come up with a drought plan to control flows of water over Kerr Dam.

The tribes and PPL Montana jointly hold the federal license to the dam. They face a March 1 deadline for the plan, which had been delayed for several years.
