The Nisga'a Nation is being reborn with the initiation of their new government. One of the first actions as a government was receiving some of the payments of their $200 million settlement from the federal government. The Nation also owes $50 to the government over the cost of negotiations, which began in 1976. The treaty between the British Columbia Nation and the goverment was proclaimed into law last month.
