Beer may help women
DECEMBER 1, 2000 Although heavy consumption of alcohol can hurt bones, a Creighton University study has found that moderate drinking can help women increase bone-marrow density. As part of the school's osteoporosis research, the school looked at 444 post-menopausal women over five years. Moderate drinking led to less diminishment of their bones, say researchers.
