Stop the pop, Wyo. schools urged

Public schools in Wyoming are being urged by a dentist to stop selling soda pop in vending machines because the drink is high in sugar and unhealthy.

Drinking soda can cause increased tooth decay, bone loss, obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Jim Landers, president of the Wyoming Dental Association, wants a bill introduced to ban the sale in schools. A school panel recently recommended one district get rid of the machines.
