Town wants more anti-Pequot money
NOVEMBER 22, 2000 The town of North Stonington is seeking another $27,000 to investigate the federal recognition petitions of two Pequot tribes. Voters in the town approved spending $35,000 this year. But that money isn't enough, says First Selectman Nicholas H. Mullane II. The town has reportedly spent about $200,000 total in opposing the federal recognition of the Eastern Pequot and Paucatuck Eastern Pequot Tribes. Get the Story:
