State holds sentencing hearing

In a companion hearing on federal sentencing, the state of South Dakota is holding a hearing today in Rapid City to consider how American Indians are treated in the criminal justice system.

The Family Connection Hospitality House say Indians receive unfair sentences. The group is made up of women whose husbands are in the state penitentiary.
