Blackfeet to hold elections

JUNE 26, 2000

The Blackfeet Tribe of Montana will hold elections on Tuesday for the tribal business council. Elections for the tribe are staggered, a decision made in 1998 in order to establish continuity.

Nine out of 18 seats will be up for grabs, including a strong challeng by Earl Old Person, former chief and chairman of the tribe. William Old Chief is current chairman and is also on the ballot.
