FBI field narrowed to three
JUNE 8, 2001 Three candidates are under final consideration to head the FBI, Bush administration officials said on Thursday. The candidates are: - George Terwilliger, a Washington, DC, lawyer who helped out President Bush during the Florida election caess. A former deputy attorney general in the elder Bush administration.
- Robert Mueller, US Attorney in San Francisco, California .
- Sterling Johnson Jr., a federal judge who would be the first African-American to head the agency.
