Park Place Entertainment revealed that it plans to spend $65 million on the Kutsher Resort Hotel and Country Club in the New York Catskills. CEO Arthur Goldberg said the company paid $250,000 for the 50 acres it intends to use to develop a casino for the St. Regis Mohawk.

Government officials and gaming industry peers believe Park Place entered into a partnership with the tribe in order to derail a casino from ever opening in the region.
