Along with tribal and private sector leaders, Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb last week testified before the Senate Indian Affairs Committee on good tribal government practices.

Strong, fair and de-facto sovereign governments encourage economic development, the group said. McCaleb specifically pushed Congress to increase the $60 million cap on the Indian Financing Act.
