Tribal compacts get favorable review
FRIDAY, JANUARY 11, 2002 The Washington State Gambling Commission on Thursday voted unanimously to approve compacts with two tribes. The commission approved a compact for the Snoqualmie Tribe, who won federal recognition two years ago. The tribe has no land so it has also filed a land-into-trust application. The commission's other action affected a second casino for the Muckleshoot Tribe. The compact amends the original one to allow for additional gaming machines for the new casino. Get the Story:
