Ariz. betting on tribal casinos

Revenue at Arizona's tribal casinos would have to increase 50 percent within a year to meet state projections, an independent analyst has told an Arizona paper.

The state is predicting to take in $83 million under compacts Gov. Jane Hull recently finalized with tribes. Tribal revenue would have to be $1.5 billion for that to occur, reports The Arizona Republic.

The 23-year agreement doubles the amount of slot machines at casinos. It also allows "trading" of slot allotments between tribes.
