Mohawk society doesn't plan border help

The Akwesasne Mohawk Warrior Society said in a statement on Tuesday it is not planning on assisting protesters of the Summit of the Americas cross into Canada through tribal territory.

Non-Indian activists earlier suggested some members of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe will help protesters cross the border for the upcoming summit of Western leaders, which begins on Friday in Quebec City.

One society member said he and others wanted to help.
