EDITORIAL: Conduct gaming study

MARCH 14, 2001

In an editorial today, The New London Day says the state should conduct a study on the effects of problem gaming like it is supposed to.

The paper says Governor John Rowland's proposal to put off the study and remove from the budget $500,000 needed for it was wrong. The paper says citizens need an honest look at the problems some people face due to gambling.

Rowland says people already know the effects of gaming and that the study should be conducted every 10 years. It is supposed to be done this year.
