Alaska group investigates racism

The Alaska Human Rights Commission has been investigating claims or racism and discrimination in Alaska for the past 38 years.

The commission has the power to enforce discrimination laws. It can hold hearings, issues supboenas and require businesses to pay for discriminating against employees.

Discrimination based on race is the most common complaint the commission sees. Sex or gender discrimination is second.
