"My non-Indian friend stared at me in wide-eyed disbelief. �Get outta here!� he said. �You mean all Indians don�t get along with each other? I thought you guys were all SOLID, man!� Nope. Especially not around the waistline, at least in my case.

Now, I�d had plenty of experience with racism from whites throughout my life, and I could talk about that all day. But this time the organizers had asked me address the topic of racism amongst Indian people � Natives vs. Natives, if you will � something called lateral oppression. . ."
