Ute Tribe goes high tech
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2002 The Ute Tribe of Utah has started a company that puts tribal members in a rural part of the state to work on high-tech projects. Uinta River Technology, based on the Ute Reservation in Fort Duchesne, is the result of the Utah Smart Site program. The program links high-tech companies around the country with rural workers. The tribe started training with database and consulting giant Oracle and now has several contracts with various government agencies. Get the Story:
