Scalia asked to step down from Cheney energy case

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday said it would let Justice Antonin Scalia decide whether to recuse himself from Vice President Dick Cheney's energy task force case. In December, the court agreed to hear the dispute, in which Cheney is a named party. A month later, Scalia went on a duck-hunting trip with Cheney, prompting the Sierra Club, one of the public interest groups seeking information about the task force, to seek his recusal. Scalia has scoffed at suggestions his trip was anything out of the ordinary. He also went on hunting excursions with lawyers from Kansas who argued cases before the court within two weeks of the trips, The Los Angeles Times reported. Get the Story:
