Civil rights panel to hold hearing in Farmington
Thursday, April 29, 2004

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is holding a public hearing in Farmington, New Mexico, on Friday to address discrimination against Native Americans.

The panel will take testimony on a variety of topics including education and law enforcement. The public will be allowed to comment at the end of the day.

John Foster Dulles II, regional director for the commission, thinks attitudes have changed. He has previously criticized local leaders for not doing enough to combat racism against Native Americans.
