Oneida families lose homes waiting on court
Friday, August 1, 2003

A lawsuit against the Oneida Nation of New York has seen little movement since it was filed last November.

Four Oneida families filed the suit to protest the tribe's housing policies. They say they are being unfairly targeted for speaking out against Ray Halbritter, the tribe's representative.

The families have now been given eviction notices. The tribe will demolish their homes August 20.
