BIA special agent killed by Ariz. police

Bureau of Indian Affairs Special Agent Marc Leber, 40, was shot late Saturday by Arizona police officers.

According to the Associated Press, police in Globe responded to a report of a suicidal person at a motel. Upon arriving to the motel, three officers had an encounter with Leber, who apparently raised his gun at the officers.

The officers then shot and killed Leber. A suicide note and was found in the motel room.

Leber was currently assigned to the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Arizona. He had previously worked for the BIA in Nevada.
