Nev. tribes to see more cigarette revenues
Monday, August 11, 2003

Tribes in Nevada will see an increase in revenue from the sale of cigarettes.

The state raised its tax from 35 cents to 80 cents. If a tribe imposes a tax equal or greater than the state tax, the tribe keeps all the earnings.

The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony near Reno will see income grow from $3.2 million to more than $5 million, the tribe's director of business enterprises said.
